Unfortunately, I witnessed just how much firsthand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For illustration, I saw many different types of time theft, like:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Excessive socializing<\/strong> \u2014 when employees spend too much time chatting instead of working,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Extended coffee\/lunch breaks<\/strong> \u2014 when workers take more time than appropriate for these activities,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Buddy punching<\/strong> \u2014 when one coworker clocks in for another who may be running late,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Personal tasks during work hours<\/strong> \u2014 when employees manage their private errands when they should be managing company projects,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Unauthorized overtime<\/strong> \u2014 when workers log extra hours even though no additional work was done, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Misreported hours<\/strong> \u2014 when employees report a full work day in their timesheet yet leave the work early or come in late.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>But I was relieved to learn that I wasn\u2019t the only one dealing with this mess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CMO at an office rental company, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/teresha\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Teresha Aird<\/a>, opened up about a time theft situation at her company.
