{"id":11243,"date":"2022-09-28T15:17:11","date_gmt":"2022-09-28T15:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/?p=11243"},"modified":"2026-01-22T13:29:21","modified_gmt":"2026-01-22T13:29:21","slug":"data-regions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/es\/getting-started\/data-regions","title":{"rendered":"Regiones de datos para Clockify"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With data regions, Clockify users can choose the specific region where their workspace data is stored.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note\">Only the workspace Owner can enable or change data residency for a workspace<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"tip translation-block\">This feature is available on <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/administration\/subscription-plans#pro\">PRO<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/administration\/subscription-plans#enterprise\">ENTERPRISE<\/a> plans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Choosing data regions (residency) mainly changes where your data is stored when it&#8217;s not being used. It doesn&#8217;t change how Clockify handles your data otherwise, or where other types of data are stored. If you don&#8217;t choose a specific data region, your workspace data will be stored in the global region by default.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Data regions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Clockify offers data regions in the following locations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>USA (United States)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>EU (Germany)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>UK (United Kingdom)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AU (Australia)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How it works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Data stored in your chosen region<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once data residency is enabled, the following categories of user data will be stored in a data center within your selected region:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Time entries (tasks, projects, clients, tags)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>User activity data (e.g. auto-tracked programs, URLs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Invoice details and related financial records<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Workspace configurations specific to your data<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Search indexes of your workspace data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Data stored outside your chosen region<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Some categories of data may be stored in regions outside of your selected data region in your <a href=\"https:\/\/cake.com\">CAKE.com<\/a> account, for operational purposes such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Clockify member profiles (basic user account information: email, name, profile picture)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organization\/workspace details (Org name, status, membership information)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Data used for internal metrics (e.g. seat count, usage)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Logs and analytics for quality of service<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>System-generated IDs (e.g. workspace, kiosk)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Log in to workspace on region<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">When you <a href=\"https:\/\/app.clockify.me\/login\">log in<\/a> to Clockify, all of your workspaces, including those hosted on region, will appear in your workspace list. <br>To access a workspace on <strong>region<\/strong>, click on its name and you&#8217;ll be redirected to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Change region<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can change data hosting region for your workspace:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Go to the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/track-time-and-expenses\/workspaces#workspace-settings\">Workspace settings<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Choose the <strong>Authentication<\/strong> tab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Click on <strong>Change region<\/strong> in the <strong>Data region<\/strong> section<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"550\" height=\"226\" class=\"wp-image-21663\" style=\"width: 550px;\" src=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-12-23-at-11.03.58.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-12-23-at-11.03.58.png 1336w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-12-23-at-11.03.58-300x124.png 300w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-12-23-at-11.03.58-1024x422.png 1024w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-12-23-at-11.03.58-768x316.png 768w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-12-23-at-11.03.58-18x7.png 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the region from the dropdown<br><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"250\" class=\"wp-image-17956\" style=\"width: 350px;\" src=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-04-26-at-09.54.30.png\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-04-26-at-09.54.30.png 1018w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-04-26-at-09.54.30-300x215.png 300w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-04-26-at-09.54.30-768x549.png 768w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screenshot-2024-04-26-at-09.54.30-18x12.png 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 350px) 100vw, 350px\" \/><br><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">You&#8217;ll see information about what this data region change may affect. Click <strong>Continue<\/strong> and <strong>Start data transfer<\/strong> to begin the process.<br>If all conditions for the region change are met, the transfer will start.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note\">During the transfer, you and all workspace users will be logged out and cannot access the workspace or track time. Transfers can take up to 12 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Workspace data transfer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>All active workspace users will be notified when the transfer starts, when it&#8217;s completed, or if it fails. If the transfer fails, your workspace will remain on its original server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>During transfer<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The workspace is locked and unavailable. (If you&#8217;re a member of another workspace, you can switch to it)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any installed add-ons are automatically uninstalled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>API operations are locked<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"tip\">Backup copy of your transferred workspace remains in the source region for 7 days. This backup is locked and will be deleted after that period.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note\">Transfer won&#8217;t occur if any user in your workspace already has an account on the destination region&#8217;s server.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Global vs. regional data transfers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Owners can transfer data from a global server to a regional server<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Transfers from a regional server back to global are<strong> not possible<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you prefer regional hosting but started globally, follow the instructions above to transfer<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">By default, when creating your workspace, your data will be hosted on a global server, regardless of your physical location<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">While you can&#8217;t go from a regional server to a global one, you <strong>can<\/strong> choose to transfer your data from one regional server to another (e.g. from EU to AU)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Data residency and API<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If your workspace data is hosted on a regional server, you must use a region-specific URL for your API calls to ensure requests reach your data\u2019s correct destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>Global API \u2013 base URL<\/td><td>Regional API \u2013 base URL<\/td><\/tr><tr><td rowspan=\"4\"><a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/api\/v1\/\">https:\/\/clockify.me\/api\/v1\/<\/a><\/td><td>EU:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/euc1.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/\">https:\/\/euc1.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/<\/a><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>USA:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/use2.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/\">https:\/\/use2.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/<\/a><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>UK:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/euw2.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/\">https:\/\/euw2.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/<\/a><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>AU:<br><a href=\"https:\/\/apse2.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/\">https:\/\/apse2.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/<\/a><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">To get data from the workspace in the EU region, use&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/euc1.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/get\/workspaces\">https:\/\/euc1.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/get\/workspaces<\/a>&nbsp;instead of the default&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/api\/v1\/get\/workspaces\">https:\/\/clockify.me\/api\/v1\/get\/workspaces<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, if you create a custom subdomain on a regional server, your API URL will follow the format [subdomainname.clockify.me].<br>For example https:\/\/subdomainname.clockify.me\/api\/v1\/get\/workspaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block tip\">After a regional transfer, new API keys are generated.
