They\u2019re used to categorize time entries by type of activity, while the Description field is used for the specific work item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">By default, anyone in the workspace can create a task. Projects are public by default on a Free plan. If you want to change project visibility to Private, subscribe to Basic plan or higher.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Add tasks in Time Tracker<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">1. Go to the <strong>Time Tracker<\/strong> page<br>2. Click on the<strong> Tasks\/Projects<\/strong> link next to the description field<br>3. Expand the project you\u2019re working on to see the tasks<br>4. Click the task you want to track<br>5. Add a description for your task (optional)<br>6. Go to <strong>Timesheets<br><\/strong>2. Select the <strong>Project\/Task<\/strong> link to initiate a new entry line<br>3. Expand the relevant Project within the selection menu<br>4. Choose the specific Task associated with your work<br>5. Go to the <strong>Calendar<\/strong> page<br>2. Select the desired time block on the calendar to open the entry form<br>3. Click the <strong>Project<\/strong> field to expand the selection menu<br>4. Expand the relevant project to display its associated tasks<br>5. Choose the specific task for this time entry<br>6. Enter a Description for the entry (optional)<br>7. Go to the <strong>Projects<\/strong> page<br>2. Click on the project<br>3. Click the <strong>three-dot icon<\/strong> next to the task you want to mark as done<br>4. If you use tasks for fixed activity types, closing them may not be necessary.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Delete tasks<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Go to the <strong>Projects<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select the relevant project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the three-dot icon next to the task you want to delete<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Select <strong>Mark as done<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click on the three-dot icon again<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Select <strong>Delete<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Type <strong>DELETE<\/strong> on the confirmation window<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"732\" height=\"366\" src=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/Delete-task.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28254\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Important note about deleting tasks:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only admins and project managers can delete tasks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All time entries associated with the deleted task will become without a task but will still be linked to the project.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rates and billable status<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">To set specific hourly rates for tasks and mark them as <strong>Billable<\/strong>, you must first enable <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/reports\/task-rates\">task rates<\/a> in your <strong>Workspace settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">To view the billable rate fields (e.g. task rate), the&nbsp;<strong>Activate billable hours<\/strong>&nbsp;must be toggled ON in the Workspace settings. Check your workspace setup by going to&nbsp;<strong>Workspace settings &gt; Permissions tab<\/strong>&nbsp;to ensure this is active. Otherwise, the billable rate fields and the billable icon will be hidden in the workspace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
