Plus,&nbsp;estimates can help you get better at estimating future projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">For example, when you compare <strong>estimated vs actually tracked time<\/strong> on a project, you get a better sense of how long a project like that takes, which helps you give better quotes to clients and set better budgets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">There are two <strong>types of estimates<\/strong> in Clockify:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Manual estimate (for the whole project)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Task-based estimate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">To set an estimate for the whole project, go to that project&#8217;s Settings tab, select Time estimate, and type your estimate in hours under <strong>Manual<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Another option is to set estimates on tasks by selecting <strong>Task-based<\/strong> estimate. Then, the estimate field will appear for each task on the project&#8217;s Task page, and your whole project estimate will be a sum of all individual task estimates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">If you have fixed fee projects, you can set estimates in monetary values using <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/projects\/project-budget\">project budget<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Project status<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When you and your team start tracking time for projects and tasks, you&#8217;ll be able to track progress on each project using Project status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"540\" src=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Screenshot-2023-05-29-at-15.20.26-1024x540.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13380\" srcset=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Screenshot-2023-05-29-at-15.20.26-1024x540.png 1024w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Screenshot-2023-05-29-at-15.20.26-300x158.png 300w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Screenshot-2023-05-29-at-15.20.26-768x405.png 768w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Screenshot-2023-05-29-at-15.20.26-1536x810.png 1536w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Screenshot-2023-05-29-at-15.20.26-18x9.png 18w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/Screenshot-2023-05-29-at-15.20.26.png 1730w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Each project will display a status next to it, for example, 15 (of 25h), which means you estimated 25h and your team tracked 15h.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can get more details about project status by clicking the bar icon&nbsp;or the project&#8217;s Status tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Project status lets you see&nbsp;progress at a glance. You can see:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Total tracked time, and how much of it is billable<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How much you&#8217;ve earned on the project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Time breakdown for each task (assignee, estimate, how much of it was tracked, and how much money you&#8217;ve earned on each task)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">In the tasks table breakdown, you can sort tasks columns by clicking on a column by which you wish to sort tasks.
