{"id":19011,"date":"2024-06-30T14:45:18","date_gmt":"2024-06-30T14:45:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/?p=19011"},"modified":"2025-11-13T02:05:43","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T02:05:43","slug":"manage-non-working-days","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/track-time-and-expenses\/manage-non-working-days","title":{"rendered":"Manage non-working days"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Define and manage holidays and policies on the <strong>Time off<\/strong> page.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note translation-block\">Time off is a paid feature, which you can enable by <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/pricing\">upgrading<\/a> your workspace to Standard, Pro, or Enterprise plan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To manage your non-working days:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Navigate to the <strong>Time off<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Click on the <strong>Settings<\/strong> icon&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Define working days in the <strong>Workspace settings<\/strong> (Saturdays and Sundays are marked as non-working days, by default).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXdO0T-D6G2L_FB080m6oBgmp6Veoj7Ykzyyhfg7oMbBrVLfVBM4pQejb6p4jKOjNOkMx-jDQxgj-KGSAXff44jBrFLmedFkvhwUgLhdzJN5NoSjSSwYPhvhQIhPstmgp_pHgnat4OZlapOOwalicB3r5o1e?key=5CaUHswpsmdonhT4yZn4TQ\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Manage holidays<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Manage holidays by creating multiple ones, assigning different people to different holidays (e.g. if some people don\u2019t get time off for a specific holiday), specifying if you\u2019d like the holiday to occur annually and defining a holiday color. Choose one, or make a custom holiday color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXeoL0-CvNGp1t-JJZFI8RaTwlfJPZkkeTeoV6GZJj-TiHt7rknwuwyhT0OUKA13xbNHiqnP18g1ajlARACk2RDc3mBhsKt5ZscoK849Valwwn5BCSJtpJkijFrWslS_byl2qpWy9hAZsSsFuSqWzjvxAs8V?key=5CaUHswpsmdonhT4yZn4TQ\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"tip\">When people request time off, holidays and weekends won\u2019t count.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For example, if someone requests Jan 1 \u2013 Jan 7 for time off \u2013 and Jan 1 is holiday, Jan 2 is Saturday, and Jan 3 is Sunday \u2013 their total request will be 4 days for time off.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"tip\">Created holidays are displayed in descending chronological order. <br>Annual holidays without a specific year are sorted by date, either for this year or the next, depending on today\u2019s date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To edit or delete holidays:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Go to the <strong>Time off<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Click on the <strong>Settings<\/strong> button at the top right corner of the page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Choose <strong>Manage<\/strong> <strong>holidays<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Click on <strong>three dots<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Edit<\/strong> next to the holiday in the <strong>Holidays<\/strong> screen<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You can edit the holiday name, people assigned to it, period of time, its annual occurrence and color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXdCOidDe28GqEF_w_QbgYffii5Euxw8G2dxllP28fEUdSbB2zqc66UQjrXJH0mN-YMde3xhT-GHIBWeWg8hUwl9N18jfcQbnZD0cpvq3LcSAtWmum8fC3qgVxYA7m4ITMdtwGrfv9YnL2lWZsgW7NfAVCrx?key=5CaUHswpsmdonhT4yZn4TQ\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Deleting or changing working days doesn\u2019t impact existing time off requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Manage policies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Holiday policies can be managed in the same way as holidays.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Create multiple policies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assign different people to different policies (e.g. if certain policy doesn\u2019t apply to certain people)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check if the policy requires approval and needs to be approved by admin or manager, or some other specific member<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXeCT04rNWzjaLjIYqsDj4VI488YDon9vitSrihWB98lZy6iLVNGpqVogrjSY-cnY3Wt9M8mMw_LKe04iWZikHWrU30MtzfdA9EwZIF0fY2P7ANnTHmtCDpcqd-DIbEEMBB4cJTlfrPQ_yd8jrfPNaTStSkw?key=5CaUHswpsmdonhT4yZn4TQ\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Define policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Enter a policy name&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose members or groups of members to which the policy will be applied<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Define time unit (days or hours) &#8211; optional<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Define if policy requires approval of admins, managers or specific members (optional)&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose if policy can be accrued after a certain period of time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select if negative balance or half day off is allowed&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Specify a policy color: Choose one, or make a custom policy color.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Edit or delete policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To edit or delete policies:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Navigate to the Settings button in the Time off page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Choose <strong>Manage policies<\/strong> from the dropdown<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">In the <strong>Policies<\/strong> screen, click on three dots next to the policy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the policy you\u2019d like to edit<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the three-dots menu for the policy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Choose to <strong>Edit<\/strong>\/<strong>Archive<\/strong> the policy<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh7-us.googleusercontent.com\/docsz\/AD_4nXdopzHz-DPAhegLRJfsA9uNzSaKXZvK911yNecFVyPNzvMvoCycTD9Kf2Pcvwh6vDYLYJ-dUfnj3XFBEAXeCFrLwfCszBp8axYW_DXiNZRXYLBYJJaqQHeNPGN64y2fM9G3x4HColptZsLI1YGZl9nb9XY?key=5CaUHswpsmdonhT4yZn4TQ\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:388px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note\">When managing holiday and time off policies, please note that you can enable automatic creation of time off and holiday entries.
