When you first register at Clockify, you&#8217;ll automatically get a Clockify workspace and your <a href=\"https:\/\/cake.com\/help\/introduction-to-cake-com\/what-is-cake-com-productivity-suite\/#cake-com-account\">CAKE.com Account<\/a> with an organization in it.<br>You can also join a Clockify workspace in an existing <a href=\"https:\/\/cake.com\/help\/introduction-to-cake-com\/glossary-of-terms\/#o\">CAKE.com organization<\/a>. A workspace contains all the time entries, projects, people, and settings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Visibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Only people who are part of the Workspace can view and interact with its data. You can be a member of multiple Workspaces at once and switch between them easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Multiple Workspaces&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With a single Clockify account, you can create or join multiple workspaces. These workspaces are separate entities, each with their own unique set of users, projects, and time entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Multiple workspaces are useful when you want to have a separate account for each sub-company or a department. This is ideal if you need to segregate time tracking and projects across various teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>For example, if you have two companies or departments, you can create two workspaces, and invite different people to each one. Then, you can switch between them as needed.<br>Or, you can be a team member in one workspace and track time for the company you work for, plus have a personal workspace where you&#8217;ll keep track of personal stuff and be admin.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Workspace settings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">As a <strong>Workspace Owner<\/strong> or <strong>Admin<\/strong>, you have access to configure the settings for your Workspace. Each Workspace is separate, so you can manage different teams, departments, or sub-companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the difference between a Workspace Owner and Admin?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Workspace Owners<\/strong> have full control over the Workspace, including transferring ownership and deleting the Workspace.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Admins<\/strong> can manage users and settings but can\u2019t delete the Workspace or transfer ownership.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I transfer ownership of my Workspace?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Navigate to the <strong>app switcher<\/strong> at the top left corner of the screen&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Choose your<strong> CAKE.com Account<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">You\u2019ll jump to the homepage of your organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Click the <strong>Members<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the Workspace member you&#8217;d like to transfer ownership to<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the menu in the top right corner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the option to transfer<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note translation-block\">For more information about ownership transfer, check out <a href=\"https:\/\/cake.com\/help\/administration\/transfer-ownership\/\">this<\/a> article. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I leave a Workspace that I own?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You can\u2019t leave a Workspace you own unless:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You transfer ownership to someone else, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You\u2019re the only member left in the Workspace<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How can I delete a Workspace?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">You can delete your Workspace via <strong>Workspaces<\/strong> page in your CAKE.com Account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Navigate to the <strong>app switcher<\/strong> at the top left corner of the screen&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Choose your<strong> CAKE.com Account<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">You\u2019ll jump to the homepage of your organization<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Click the <strong>Workspaces<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose the workspace you&#8217;d like to delete<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">From the <strong>three dots<\/strong> menu on the right, choose the <strong>Delete workspace<\/strong> option <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to deleting a Workspace:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure you are the owner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remove all users from the Workspace<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Leave the Workspace to trigger its deletion<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note\">Deleting a Workspace is permanent and cannot be undone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I manage which users can create projects or tasks?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">You can set permissions for creating and managing projects, tasks, clients, and tags under the <strong>Workspace settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>General<\/strong> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I change the Workspace\u2019s name or billable rates?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Yes, both the Workspace name and the default billable rates can be adjusted in the <strong>Workspace settings<\/strong>. You can also configure the currency used for billing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Can I switch between multiple Workspaces?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Yes, you can. If you\u2019re a member of multiple Workspaces, you can switch between them at any time using the <strong>Navigation menu<\/strong>. The switch will log you out of the current Workspace and log you into the selected one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How do I archive a Workspace?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>You can\u2019t directly archive a Workspace. However, you can deactivate all users to prevent access while keeping the data intact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"tip translation-block\">For more information on how to deactivate workspace user, check out <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/administration\/inviting-users#deactivate-and-delete-user\">this<\/a> article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What happens when I leave a Workspace?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>If you leave a Workspace, you will need to be invited back by a current member if you want to rejoin.
