Use the bulk management tools on the Team page to activate or deactivate multiple team members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Permissions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Both owners<\/strong> and admins<\/strong> can use the bulk activate and deactivate features, but there are a few important distinctions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Owners<\/strong> can activate or deactivate anyone in the workspace.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Admins<\/strong> can bulk manage all regular roles (Team Members, Project Managers, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Admins<\/strong> cannot manage owners or other admins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    How to bulk activate users<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If your workspace was recently downgraded to the Free plan (which automatically limits your active team to the Owner and the 4 oldest active users), you can quickly reactivate your team once you upgrade again.

    2. Check the box next to the names of the deactivated<\/strong> users you want to reactivate<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Click the Activate<\/strong> button that appears at the top of the list<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      You must only select currently inactive<\/em> users. The Activate button will not appear if your selection includes a mix of active and inactive statuses.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

      How to bulk deactivate users<\/h2>\n\n\n\n


      Deactivating users in bulk is a quick way to free up seats or manage your workspace after a project ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Go to the Team<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Check the box next to the names of the active<\/strong> users you want to deactivate<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Click the Deactivate<\/strong> button that appears at the top of the list<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        To see the Deactivate option, you must only select currently active<\/em> users. If you select a mix of active and inactive users, the bulk action buttons will be hidden.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n


        After deactivating users, they will remain visible on your screen regardless of your current filters. This allows you to review your changes before refreshing or navigating away from the page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        Billing and seat requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n


        Activating multiple users at once may affect your billing, depending on your current plan and available seats. Here is what to expect when you click Activate<\/strong>:

        Scenario<\/strong><\/td>What Happens<\/strong><\/td><\/tr>
        You are on the Free plan<\/strong><\/td>You can activate users up to the Free plan limit (5 total active users<\/strong>, including the owner).<\/td><\/tr>
        You have enough paid empty seats<\/strong><\/td>The users will be activated immediately.<\/td><\/tr>
        You don’t have enough paid seats<\/strong><\/td>You will be prompted to purchase the exact number of additional seats needed to cover the activation.<\/td><\/tr>
        You are missing a payment method<\/strong> (but have empty seats)<\/td>The users will be activated immediately using your available empty seats.<\/td><\/tr>
        You are missing a payment method<\/strong> (and need more seats)<\/td>You will be prompted to add your payment information or contact support before proceeding.<\/td><\/tr>
        You have an unpaid invoice<\/strong> (and need more seats)<\/td>The activation will be blocked. You will see an explanation and a link to review and pay your unpaid invoices.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
