Creating a time entry allows you to log the hours you spend on tasks using a timer, manual input, timesheet, or calendar view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Track time in Time Tracker<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The timer is the best way to track your work as it happens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Navigate to the Time Tracker<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Click the What are you working on?<\/strong> box<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Type a short description of your task<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Select a Project<\/strong> to associate the time with (optional)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Click Start<\/strong> to begin the timer<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Click Stop<\/strong> once you finish your task<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Shortcut: <\/strong>You can start the timer quickly by pressing n <\/strong>on your keyboard if you are not editing any fields.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Enter time manually<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If you forgot to start the timer or prefer to log your work at the end of the day, you can manually add time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. Go to the Time Tracker<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Click the list icon in the upper right corner to switch to Manual mode<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Enter the start and end time (or just the duration)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    4. Type a description of your task<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    5. Select a Project<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
    6. Click Add<\/strong> to save the entry<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      If you don’t see the Timesheet<\/strong> tab in the sidebar, you may need to enable it<\/a> in your Workspace settings<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

      The timesheet view is ideal if you prefer to enter time for the entire week at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      1. Go to the Timesheet<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      2. Click the Task\/@Project <\/strong>link (required when Timesheet is enabled)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      3. Choose a task or project<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      4. Enter the number of hours you worked in the correct Day<\/strong> column <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      5. Click anywhere on the screen or press Enter\/Return<\/strong> to save<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

        Track time in the Calendar view<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        The Calendar view provides a visual timeline of your day, making it easy to fill in gaps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        1. Go to the Calendar<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        2. Click on any open time slot on the calendar<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        3. Enter the task description and select a Project<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
        4. Adjust the start and end times if necessary<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        5. Click Add<\/strong> to save the entry<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          You can drag and drop entries to move them to different times or click and drag the edges of a block to resize it.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

          Continue an existing entry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          You can quickly resume a timer for a task you previously worked on without re-entering the details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. Find the entry you want to resume<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. Click the Play<\/strong> icon on the right side of the entry<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

            The timer will immediately start with the same description, project, and tags. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

            This process creates a new entry rather than resuming the old one.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

            Change start time of the running timer<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            You can change the start time while the timer is running by clicking on the running time. Then you can manually type in your real start time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            This is useful when you start an activity but you aren’t able to start the timer at that moment (e.g. you’re on a meeting and are away from the computer).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
