Whenever your team is on the road or on site, they can clock in via their mobile app and you can see their location on the map. With GPS tracking, you can see who’s currently working on a specific location and everyone’s location history throughout the day while they are on the clock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GPS tracking is a paid feature, which you can enable by upgrading your workspace<\/a> to the Pro or Enterprise plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Data gathering and privacy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our GPS feature is designed to help teams stay synchronized while ensuring individual privacy. Here is everything you need to know about how your data is handled:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Requirements<\/strong><\/td>\u2022 Admin must enable Activate GPS tracking in settings.
\u2022 Users must track time via the mobile app (iOS or Android)
\u2022 Users must enable Location services and allow Clockify access.<\/td><\/tr>
Transparency<\/strong><\/td>\u2022 Location cannot be tracked without user knowledge\/permission.
\u2022 All members get a web and mobile notification when tracking is enabled.<\/td><\/tr>
When data is collected<\/strong><\/td>\u2022 Every time a timer is started or stopped in the mobile app.
\u2022 While the timer is running, if the user moves significantly (usually >500m).
\u2022 Locations are collected even if the app works in the background.<\/td><\/tr>
Visibility<\/strong><\/td>\u2022 Regular Users:<\/strong> Can see all their own recorded locations.
\u2022 Admins:<\/strong> Can see all recorded locations in the workspace.<\/td><\/tr>
Data retention<\/strong><\/td>\u2022 Locations are kept for the past 7 days.
\u2022 Data older than 7 days is automatically deleted forever.<\/td><\/tr>
Deletion rules<\/strong><\/td>\u2022 Each location is tied to a time entry and deleting the entry deletes the location.
\u2022 Regular Users<\/strong> can delete their own locations.
\u2022 Admins<\/strong> can delete anyone’s locations.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Enable GPS tracking<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To enable GPS tracking:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Click on the three-dot icon<\/strong> next to your workspace name<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Select Workspace settings<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Scroll down to find Track location<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Enable the option Activate GPS tracking<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Click I AGREE <\/strong>in the pop-up window<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
