Its purpose is to provide information on who performed an action, what was changed, and when it happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note translation-block\">The Audit Log is a paid feature available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/pricing\">Enterprise plan<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enable audit log<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>By default, the Audit Log is not active. You must enable it and specify which categories of data you wish to track.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To enable audit log:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click the three-dot icon next to your workspace name in the top sidebar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Select <strong>Workspace settings<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Navigate to the <strong>Audit Log<\/strong> tab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Activate the Audit Log<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the boxes for the changes you wish to record:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Time Entries<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tasks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Clients<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tags<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Expenses<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"716\" height=\"376\" src=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Activate-audit-log.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28979\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important note on linked changes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Linked changes are secondary actions triggered automatically by the system when a primary item is modified or removed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because many items in Clockify are interconnected (such as time entries being linked to specific projects), a single change to one can have a &#8220;ripple effect&#8221; across others to ensure data consistency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Example:<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>If you delete a project, the system also updates all associated time entries to reflect that they no longer belong to that project.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">If you are tracking both <strong>Projects<\/strong> and <strong>Time Entries<\/strong>, you will see two logs in the Audit Log page linked to changes such as Project deleted and Time entry updated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Run an audit report<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the feature is enabled, you can generate reports to review workspace activity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To run a report:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list translation-block\">\n<li>Click <strong>Run Report<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Go to <strong>Workspace Settings<\/strong> &gt; <strong>Audit Log<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply filters as needed:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list translation-block\">\n<li><strong>Filter by Date \u2014 <\/strong>Select a date range (maximum range is 30 days per report).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Filter by Author \u2014 <\/strong>Choose specific users, or select &#8220;System&#8221; to see automated activities logged by the app itself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Filter by Action \u2014 <\/strong>Select specific actions (e.g., &#8220;Deleted time,&#8221; &#8220;Created project&#8221;).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"714\" height=\"376\" src=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Run-audit-repot.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28973\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You can then proceed to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Expand details \u2014 <\/strong>Click on any event in the table to see the following details:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>User<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Description<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Project<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Task<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Client<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kiosk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Type<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start\/end date<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Start\/end time<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Duration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Billable (Yes\/No)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Billable rate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cost rate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Approved (Yes\/No)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Invoiced (Yes\/No)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\"><strong>Export data \u2014 <\/strong>Click <strong>Export as CSV<\/strong> to download a CSV file for external analysis in Excel or Google Sheets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"529\" src=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Export-CSV-audit-log-1024x529.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28974\" srcset=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Export-CSV-audit-log-1024x529.png 1024w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Export-CSV-audit-log-300x155.png 300w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Export-CSV-audit-log-768x397.png 768w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Export-CSV-audit-log-1536x794.png 1536w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Export-CSV-audit-log-2048x1058.png 2048w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Export-CSV-audit-log-18x9.png 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"note\">Large files may take time to generate. You can wait on the page or choose to have the file emailed to you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Update events<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Update events provide a side-by-side comparison of changes made to any item in your workspace. Instead of just telling you that a change happened, these events capture the specific before and after state of the data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whenever a user modifies a setting, name, or value, the audit log records the change. The system categorizes these into two clear fields:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list translation-block\">\n<li><strong>Previous value: <\/strong>The state of the item before the edit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>New value: <\/strong>The state of the item after the edit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"275\" src=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Update-actions-in-audit-log-1024x275.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-28975\" srcset=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Update-actions-in-audit-log-1024x275.png 1024w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Update-actions-in-audit-log-300x80.png 300w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Update-actions-in-audit-log-768x206.png 768w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Update-actions-in-audit-log-1536x412.png 1536w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Update-actions-in-audit-log-2048x549.png 2048w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/Update-actions-in-audit-log-18x5.png 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We recommend enabling the Audit Log as soon as you start using Clockify, because changes are logged only after it\u2019s enabled.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the Audit Log is off when an entry is created, and you turn it on later to update that entry, Clockify may not have the &#8220;Previous Value&#8221;
