{"id":810,"date":"2018-03-29T13:20:19","date_gmt":"2018-03-29T13:20:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/?p=810"},"modified":"2025-11-13T14:51:41","modified_gmt":"2025-11-13T14:51:41","slug":"time-audit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/track-time-and-expenses\/time-audit","title":{"rendered":"Time audit"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Time audit helps you and your team find and fix faulty time entries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Audits can be conducted both by admins and regular users:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Admin can find all the faulty entries in the entire workspace with one click and fix them<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team members can find their incomplete entries with one click and fix them<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block note\">A time audit is a paid feature, which you can enable by <a aria-label=\"upgrading (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/pricing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">upgrading<\/a> your workspace to any of the paid plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">To record and analyze changes made to time entries (e.g. who changed start time, deleted entry, etc.), you can use the <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/administration\/audit-log\">Audit log<\/a> feature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When to use time audit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>When you&#8217;re in the middle of something, you just want to start a timer and add a project\/categorize the entry later.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When you need to clean up timesheets before invoicing clients and you need to find entries that your team forgot to categorize.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find time entries you&#8217;ve made by accident (shorter than 1 minute or longer than 8 hours) so you can delete them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to use time audit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To use time audit: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to <strong>Detailed report<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Click <strong>Time Audit <\/strong>drop-down<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select what kind of entries you want to find (without a project\/task, suspicious duration)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Directly edit time entries (add project\/task, delete, fix duration)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You can also use <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/reports\/filtering-reports\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">filters<\/a> on top of the audit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">When you select <strong>Suspicious duration<\/strong>, you can define the duration that makes an entry suspicious.
