On the other hand, users that have an email and can log into Clockify on their own are considered full users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use limited members to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add historical time data for people who are no longer in the company<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Allow employees without an email to clock in and clock out via <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/track-time-and-expenses\/track-time-on-kiosk\">shared kiosk<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Full vs limited member<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Full member<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>Limited member<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Has name and email<\/td><td>Has only name<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Can log into Clockify and use apps (web, mobile, desktop)<\/td><td>Can use only kiosk<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Can switch tasks and projects, and record location<\/td><td>Limited by kiosk<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Takes up a full seat (from $3.99\/seat)<\/td><td>Takes up a limited seat (from $0.79\/seat)<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"836\" height=\"318\" src=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/limited-members-1024x403_11.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/limited-members-1024x403_11.png 836w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/limited-members-1024x403_11-300x114.png 300w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/limited-members-1024x403_11-768x292.png 768w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/limited-members-1024x403_11-18x7.png 18w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 836px) 100vw, 836px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Creating limited members<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Make sure you have <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/track-time-and-expenses\/track-time-on-kiosk\">kiosk<\/a> enabled in workspace settings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Go to the <strong>Team<\/strong> page in the sidebar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Choose the <strong>Limited<\/strong> tab<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Click <strong>Add limited members<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Enter <strong>Employee name<\/strong> (one employee per line)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Click <strong>Add<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re on a FREE plan, you can have an unlimited number of limited members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re on a paid plan, you need to have a limited seat for each limited member (active).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If an account with that email address already exists, it won&#8217;t be possible to create an account for a limited user. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"383\" src=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/addmemberlimited.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10673\" srcset=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/addmemberlimited.png 500w, https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/addmemberlimited-300x230.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paying for limited users <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you&#8217;re on a paid plan, limited members are charged separately from full users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each active limited member requires one limited seat and the price depends on your current plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can buy limited seats on your Subscription page, or directly when adding a member on the Team page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Added limited members are immediately active upon being added. If you deactivate a limited user, another limited user can take their limited seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If user edits their email address in any way, Clockify will treat it as a new email for a new account. User won&#8217;t be able to access this account until they change the email address in the profile settings.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Managing limited members <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Limited members&#8217; profiles can be managed on all plans by Admins, who can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Edit their profile<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Edit their kiosk <a href=\"https:\/\/clockify.me\/help\/track-time-and-expenses\/pin\">PIN<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Deactivate their account<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Converting limited members to full members<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Limited members can only clock in via kiosk you set up. They can&#8217;t use mobile app on their own or access Clockify via web.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you wish people to personally log in, track time via a mobile or web app, approve timesheets, manage members, and run reports &#8211; they need to be a full member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To convert a limited member to a full member:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Navigate to the <strong>Team<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open the three dots menu next to the member&#8217;s profile<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Choose <strong>Add email<\/strong> from the dropdown menu<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Enter the email address of the person<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Click <strong>Add<\/strong> to complete the process<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Once converted, the person will receive an invitation email, which they need to confirm and then access Clockify.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"tip\">If you\u2019re on a paid plan, you\u2019ll need to have an available full seat to convert a member.
