To set up the authentication method for kiosk: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Choose the authentication method: QR code<\/strong> or PIN<\/strong> (4- or 6-digit)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

QR codes make clocking in fast and secure for both limited and regular users. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
QR code authentication method is available on Standard<\/a> and higher subscription plans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before you start, enable QR authentication in the Workspace settings<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To clock in via QR code: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Open the kiosk app<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Open the QR code you received by email<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- After scanning, you’re automatically logged in and can clock in\/out<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
Clock in via PIN<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
PINs allow quick access without searching for your name on kiosk<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Logging in with PIN is a paid feature<\/a>, that you can enable by upgrading your account to any paid plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There are two types of PINs used to authenticate kiosk members: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
- \n
- 4-digit PIN<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- 6-digit PIN (more secure and provides more unique combinations)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Admin can enforce either option at the Workspace level. When enforced, all kiosks use that same PIN type. After that, admins receive a file with personal PINs of all Kiosk members and distribute them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To clock in via PIN: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Open the Kiosk<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Enter your 4-digit or 6-digit PIN <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Clock in <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
After 3 failed login attempts, you should contact your manager, since you won’t be able to log in to the kiosk by yourself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fallback options<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
If QR scanning fails, you can clock in using your 6-digit PIN.
Each kiosk has a Universal PIN<\/strong> for clocking in any non-admin user. <\/p>\n\n\n\nAdmin can see and download all QR codes and PINs, even if kiosks are offline. They can switch authentication methods anytime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Personal vs Universal PIN<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Each kiosk has a Universal PIN<\/strong> that allows you to clock in and out for any employee (except owner\/admin<\/strong>)

<\/figure>\n\n\n\nEach employee, upon becoming a member, automatically gets their own personal<\/strong> PIN code<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To clock in, an employee simply selects their profile on the kiosk and enters their personal PIN.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
If you know kiosk’s Universal PIN<\/strong>, you can enter it instead of a personal PIN to clock in for any employee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A Universal PIN<\/strong> cannot be used to sign in with owner\/admin role. They must always use their personal PIN code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To see PINs or QR codes codes for all users on some kiosk:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Click on three dots next to a kiosk<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Click Export assignees<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Open the CSV file to see all kiosk assignees and their PIN codes<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

PIN code requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

- A regular user can’t have the same PIN code as some admin. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Each kiosk has a unique Universal PIN code.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- An admin can’t have the same PIN code as any Universal PIN code on any kiosk.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Any PIN code can’t have the same four\/six digits (e.g. 111111).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Bulk send QR codes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
Use the bulk send feature to send QR codes to multiple Full team members<\/strong> who log in using the Kiosk. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
To send QR codes to multiple team members:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
- \n
- Go to the Team<\/strong> page<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Check the box next to the team member\u2019s names to whom you want to send QR codes<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Click Send QR codes<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Click Send <\/strong>on the confirmation window<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
Check the box on the top right corner (next to Name<\/strong>) to select all team members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

- Admins can generate new PINs for users<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Admins cannot manually edit an employee’s PIN<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- If you disable\/re-enable a kiosk, existing PINs stay the same<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- If you switch authentication method, you get a new PIN for the new method<\/li>\n\n\n\n
- Switching back restores your previous PIN for that method <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n
