Cookie Policy

COING uses cookies on the Website, Services and mobile application.

This Cookie Policy makes an integral part of our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. You can find out more about cookies and how to control them in the information below. Concepts written in capital letters in this Cookie Policy have the same meaning as defined in the Privacy Policy or in the Terms of Use.

1. WHAT IS A COOKIE?

Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information that are downloaded to your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognize a user's device. They serve the purpose of making our Service more user-friendly, efficient, and secure. Cookies also make it possible for our systems to recognize your browser and offer you the best possible configuration.

We use cookies to collect information about the use of the Website and the Services.

Each cookie distinguishes you from other Users and Website visitors. Some other techniques, such as web beacons or pixels, have similar purposes to cookies. In this Cookie Policy, the word "cookie" designates the objects delivered by those techniques as well.

While we do our best to keep this table updated, please note that the number and names of cookies, pixels and other technologies may change from time to time.

2. TYPES OF COOKIES

In general, there are three different ways to classify cookies: how long they endure, their provenance and what purpose they serve.

DURATION

Session cookies – These cookies are temporary and expire once you close your browser (or once your session ends).

Persistent cookies — This category encompasses all cookies that remain on your hard drive until you erase them, or your browser does, depending on the cookie"s expiration date. All persistent cookies have an expiration date written into their code, but their duration can vary.

PROVENANCE

First-party cookies — As the name implies, first-party cookies are put on your device directly by COING.

Third-party cookies — These are the cookies that are placed on your device, not by COING, but by a third party like an advertiser or an analytic system. Some third-party cookies (for example, Google Analytics) gather information about your browsing activities over time and across different websites, which may result in advertisements or other messages being displayed to you based on your browsing history.

Information on whether these are first-party or third-party cookies please check the category "provider" below. Please read the privacy policies of such third parties to understand their processing of personal data.

3. USE OF EXTERNAL TOOLS ON OUR WEBSITE

3.1. GOOGLE ANALYTICS

COING has integrated Google Analytics on the Website (with an anonymization function). Google Analytics is a website analysis service. Website analysis refers to the collection, recording and analysis of data regarding the behavior of Users of Clockify. In other words, Google Analytics uses cookies to remember a User's behavior and provide COING with reports on the visits of the Website and User"s activity.

Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Pkwy, Mountain View, CA 94043-1351, USA, is the operator of the Google Analytics component.

How Google processes personal data via Google Analytics please see here https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites

Google Analytics uses cookies, as described in the table above. The information about your use of Clockify generated by the Google Analytics cookies is normally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google might disclose these personal data collected via the technical procedure to third parties.

COING has activated IP anonymization, which means that Google shortens User"s IP addresses within the Member States of the European Union or in other countries that are parties to the European Marketing Area Treaty. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Google uses this information to analyze your use of the Website in order to compile a report about your Website activities and provide COING with other services associated with the Website and Services.

We have also set the use of Google Analytics to comply with the highest privacy protection standards.

If you wish to find out more on how Google uses information collected via this Website and the Service, please see here https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites?hl=en-GB&gl=uk

Apart from the instructions in Section 5 of the Cookie Policy, You may furthermore prevent the disclosure of the data generated by the cookie which refer to the use of the Website (incl. your IP address) to Google as well as the processing of these data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

This browser add-on notifies Google Analytics via JavaScript that no data or information about website visitors may be transmitted to Google Analytics.

In addition, a cookie left behind by Google Analytics may be erased at any time via the Internet browser or other software programs.

Google Analytics is explained in more detail under this link: https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/, while information how Google processes data the User may find under this link https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245#zippy=%2Cour-privacy-policy%2Cgoogle-analytics-cookies-and-identifiers

3.2. GOOGLE TAG MANAGER

COING uses Google Tag Manager. This service allows us to administer so-called website tags centrally via an interface. Google Tag Manager implements only tags. No cookies are used and no personal data are collected.

Google has a suitable privacy policy for such data collection by third-party providers: https://marketingplatform.google.com/intl/de/about/analytics/tag-manager/use-policy/

However Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If certain domains/websites or cookies were deactivated, it remains in place for all tracking tags provided that they are implemented using Google Tag Manager.

4. LEGAL BASIS FOR USING COOKIES

COING is not allowed to use cookies unless a User agrees to it via Cookie banner. Therefore, the legal basis for using cookies is the User"s consent as described in our Privacy Policy.

We assume the device you are using is yours. If this is not the case, (for example, if you are using the Service or displaying a Website on your employer"s computer or smart device), we expect you to have the authorisation of the owner of the device to agree on their behalf with our storing cookies on the device and retrieving information from it as described in the Cookie Policy. By using the device you are confirming to us that you are so authorised.
