Export file shows different name

If your exported file (CSV, PDF, or Excel) is showing a different name or title, here are some possible causes and how to fix them. 

1. The workspace is named after a team member #

By default, Clockify prominently displays the Workspace Name at the top of exported PDF reports. When someone sets up a Clockify account, the system often defaults the workspace name to “[Creator’s Name]’s Workspace.” 

If a colleague created the workspace and invited you to it, their name will show up on everyone’s exported reports.

How to fix it: If you have Admin rights, you can rename the workspace to your company or team name:

  1. Click the three dots next to the workspace name
  2. Sélectionnez Paramètres de l’espace de travail
  3. Change the Workspace name to something neutral (e.g., “Marketing Team” or your company name)
Remarque

If you aren’t an admin, you will need to ask the workspace owner or an admin to make this change.

2. An active user filter is applied #

If you have Manager or Admin permissions, you have the ability to view other team members’ time. You might have accidentally left a filter turned on that includes another team member’s tracked hours, causing the report to summarize their data and display their name.

How to fix it:

  1. Navigate to the Reports page (Summary, Detailed, or Weekly)
  2. Check the Team/User filter drop-down at the top of the screen
  3. Ensure that only your name is checked
  4. Click Apply Filter and export the report again

3. A custom export title is saved #

If your workspace is on a paid plan, Clockify allows users to customize PDF exports. Someone may have added a custom title or footer to the PDF export settings (like “Jane’s Monthly Hours”). 

Because this customization works on a per-user basis and saves across sessions, every PDF you export will carry that custom text until you disable or change it.

How to fix it:

  1. Go to Reports > Summary/Detailed/Weekly
  2. Click the Export button on the top-right corner
  3. Select Customization
  4. Check to see if the Report Name or Notes field has been manually typed over with the other person’s name
  5. Update it to your name or preferred title and click Save

4. You are viewing a Shared report #

If you clicked a link to view a shared report created by someone else, the report title is locked to whatever they named it when they generated the link.

How to fix it:

  1. Accédez à la section Rapports
  2. Set the date ranges and filters you want
  3. Export the PDF
