FAQ #
Can a single Clockify user have multiple tracking devices assigned to them?
Yes, the system supports multi-device assignments for individuals who work across multiple machines. All activity data collected across those independent endpoints is securely aggregated into that single user profile. Overlap logic is automatically applied to prevent double-counting active hours if both devices are running concurrently.
What happens to data collected while a device is in an unassigned state?
Background telemetry collected while an agent device is unassigned is recorded in system logs strictly for auditing purposes. This historical activity will not be retroactively linked or displayed on a user’s profile timeline once assigned. Activity tracking on the assigned member’s profile begins from the moment the device assignment is completed.
If I delete a device agent from the workspace, is historical tracking data lost?
No, deleting a registered agent from the table only disconnects the configuration layer and stops future telemetry syncing from that specific computer. All historical tracking data previously collected by that device remains within your workspace.
